B.Sc. in Agricultural Engineering at UNICAMP, Brazil: M.Sc. in at Université Laval, Québec, Canada and PhD at Texas Tech University, USA. Presently is a Professor at the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering at UNICAMP, Adjunct Coordinator for Special Programs at FAPESP and Vice-Rector of International Relations of UNICAMP.
Coordinated the Interdisciplinary Center of Energy Planning – NIPE/UNICAMP between 1998-2002 and 2012-2013.
Coordinated projects in Bioenergy such as a study on sugarcane ethanol expansion in Brazil; the FAPESP Public Policy Ethanol Project in R&D for sustainable ethanol production which lead to the book “Sugarcane Bioethanol: R&D on sustainability and productivity” published in 2010.
Presently coordinates the FAPESP/IANAS/LACAF-I Project to promote bioenergy in Latin America and Africa, and a Roadmap on Sustainable Biofuels for Aviation in Brazil.Organization: IANAS Energy Program/Brazil
