Dra. Guadalupe González
Dr. González is a Panamanian, graduated from the Technological University of Panama where she obtained a bachelor's degree in Electromechanical Engineering and has a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Texas A & M University, USA. Since 2006, she has worked as a research assistant at the Technological University of Panama and since 2011 she has been an Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering of the Technological University of Panama (UTP) where she is also Co-Director of the Advanced Energy Technologies and Sustainability Research Program. In addition to her work at the UTP, Dr. González is a member of scientific associations such as the Panamanian Association for the Advancement of Science (APANAC), Sigma Xi The Research Society and the IEEE where she is a Senior Member and has volunteered in different positions within the IEEE Panama Section and at international level such as: Vice President of the Power and Energy Panama Chapter (2013-2014), Treasurer of the Panamanian WIE Affinity Group (2014), Coordinator of the Technical Committee of CONCAPAN XXXIV, Regional Representative of the IEEE PES Women Power group (since 2014), President of the Power and Energy Panama Chapter (2015-2016), since 2016 she is the Representative of the Power and Energy Society for Central America and Panama (CAPANA) and this year she serves as Vice President of the IEEE Panama Section.
Her areas of interest include: energy planning, smart cities, sustainable engineering, design and control of electrical machines, power electronics, renewable energy systems and modeling of energy systems. Currently, she also realizes studies on modeling of physical properties of biological materials. Dr. González has published multiple articles in indexed journals and conference proceedings at the national and regional levels.
