Dr. Evaldo Vilela received his undergraduate degree in Agronomy from the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV). He holds a Master’s degree in Entomology from the University of São Paulo (USP) and a Ph.D. in Chemical Ecology from the University of Southampton, UK. He completed postdoctoral fellowships at renowned Universities in USA, Germany, and Japan. He was Rector of UFV from 2000 to 2004. In addition, he was Deputy Secretary of Science, Technology and Higher Education of the State of Minas Gerais (SECTES-MG) from 2007 to 2014 and President of the Brazilian Society of Agricultural Defense (SBDA) from 2010 to 2013. Dr. Vilela was also the Director of Science, Technology, and Innovation of at the State Funding Agency of Minas Gerais (FAPEMIG) from March to December 2014, where nowadays he is the President.
