IANAS General Assembly – 2022
We are glad to announce that this year’s General Assembly will be hosted by the National Academy of Sciences of Argentina, in Córdoba, from September 19-21st.
After two years of online meetings only, Presidents (or their designated representatives) of all Member Academies will get together for a three day face-to-face meeting, starting on the morning of Monday 19th and finishing at noon on Wednesday 21st.
What is interesting about this year’s assembly, is that apart from the inherent activities held during the General Assembly -such as the election of new authorities and constitution of IANAS’ executive committee-, a series of symposiums and plenary conferences have been organized as well. Among which, it is worth mentioning the Climate Change and Health symposium chaired by Dr. Helena Nader and with the participation of Dr. Jeremy McNeil, IANAS Co-Chair and president of the Royal Society of Canada, and the Energies for the Transition symposium coordinated by Dr. Victor Alberto Ramos, president of the National Academy of Exact, Physical and Natural Sciences of Argentina.
Additionally, in the afternoon of Wednesday, September 21st, there will be a joint session bringing together the Presidents/representatives of Member Academies and some of the specialists who worked on the IANAS Science Education statement, to kick-off IANAS STEM Education Workshop that will be held immediately after the assembly.
The events will also be transmitted virtually, for those who are interested in participating but could not assist in person, through the following link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81851065250 . The admission is open and free of charge and does not require previous registration.
