The InterAcademy Partnership hosted the IAP Secretariats meeting with Regional Networks in Trieste, Italy. It consisted of a 2-day in-person coordination meeting held on 6 and 7 March, 2023. The main goal of the meeting was to increase synergies between the IAP Secretariats and their Regional Networks.

The topics of discussion included the following: 

DAY 1
1.Introductions of IAP Secretariats and Regional networks’ representatives.
2.Overview of IAP new structure and of 2023 activities.
3.Updates of structure and secretariat at regional networks and brief presentation on Regional networks’ activities.
4.Involvement of IAP Regional Networks in IAP initiatives/projects (contracts with IAP, outputs, i.e. reports, briefs, participation in international conferences and fora); feedback from IAP surveys
5.Presentation of 2/3 success stories (Regional Networks)
6.Opportunities for improving operations and coordination
DAY 2
7.IAP member academy engagement – the role of RNs
8.Improving communication and outreach efforts
9.How can IAP Secretariats further support RN?
