Water and Health in the Americas - Webinar series

IANAS Water program coordinated a series of Webninars on Water and Health. The topics of these Webinars were addressed under the “Bradley Classification” conceptual framework which classifies the pathogens based on their route of transmission, not traditional epidemiology, which provided a useful framework for understanding the relationship between infectious disease transmission and water. Four virtual conferences were carried out:

  • Webinar I – Water-washed pathogens and diseases – THURSDAY – March 17th 4pm ET
  • Webinar II – Water-borne pathogens and diseases – WEDNESDAY April 6th 6pm ET/8am Osaka Time
  • Webinar III – Water-based pathogens and diseases – THURSDAY April 21st 4pm ET
  • Webinar IV – Water-related vector borne pathogens and diseases – THURSDAY May 5th 4pm ET

The main goal of these Webinars were to address the importance of sanitation, hygiene, and adequate access to clean water for preventing and containing water-borne, water-washed, vector-borne/water-related, and water related diseases.
